The Four Seasons Hotel in St Fillans is in an
ideal setting for a landscape painting holiday. The natural beauty
of this southern Highlands loch is the first delight of every visitor
to St. Fillans, and the position of the Four Seasons, with picture
windows looking south-west down the Loch, is one of the most enviable
settings in Scotland. The views from the hotel are ever-changing;
with the fresh new colours of spring, our light evenings, spectacular
sunsets framed by the Bens to the west, and early morning mists
shrouding a becalmed loch.
Autumn Paint-Escape to St Fillans with Michael Kitchen
(4pm Sunday 5th - 2pm Friday 10th October 2008)
Following a very enjoyable and successful painting holiday based at The Four Seasons Hotel during October 2007, Michael has again teamed up with us to tutor another exciting week during the colourful autumn of 2008.
Michael is a professional artist and an enthusiastic, sensitive tutor with over 40 years painting experience and regularly delivers demonstrations and workshops to art societies throughout Scotland. For the past 12 years he has been running painting holidays and courses at his Wood of Shaws home and studio in Aberdeenshire and at many enchanting locations abroad. In 2008 he will also be tutoring on board the QE2 during a cruise of the Mediterranean and on The Queen Victoria whilst cruising to Madeira and the Canary Islands.
Accomplished in the use of watercolours, oils and pastels, his favourite subjects are landscapes, portraits and wild-life studies. Guests may use whichever medium they wish and each day there will be structured teaching and or demonstrations - as well as plenty of individual tuition and encouragement. As far as possible painting will be en plein air at some of the most stunning venues in Perthshire.
Like other holidays that Michael tutors, the week will be suitable for people of any ability and non-painting partners will be welcome.
The choice of an hotel room or chalet accommodation
and dining arrangements, as well as activities for non-painting
partners, will be similar to those outlined above. Prices from £349
( chalet) and £405 (hotel). Special discounts will apply to non-painting
partners and guests who share hotel accommodation.
