Drovers Tryst Walking Festival
The Drovers’ Tryst Walking Festival recreates the droving days of the 1700s, when people would converge in Crieff each October for the great Michaelmas Week Fair.
Running a decade, the festival continues to build on previous successes, with an ever-increasing range of activities for adults and children – a great way to spend an October break in Perthshire!
The nearby Four Seasons Hotel has a of range special offers on accommodation to let you enjoy the festival in all its splendour.
Choose from ceilidhs and whisky tasting, abseiling and treasure hunts, and of course the extensive walking programme. Bag a local Munro, walk old drove roads or take a gentle amble through the glens, feasting your eyes on the lovely autumn colours of Perthshire. A new addition to the Drovers’ Tryst Festival is the ‘Hairy Coo’, a fun, race-based mountain bike challenge on a network of handmade trails in Strathearn.
Also be sure to check out the shops, restaurants and cafes at the Country Market, complete with historic re-enactments. Evenings events include ceilidhs, a deerstalking walk at dusk and screenings by the local cinema club.
