Snowdrop Festival

The Scottish Snowdrop festival, held between February and March, takes its name from the Snowdrop flower, which blossoms at the beginning of spring.

First held in 2007, it has been going from strength to strength ever since.

The festival involves gardens all over Scotland, opening to the public with events, tours, sales and great walks.

Four Seasons’ location in Lochearnhead, Perthshire, serves as a great base to visit many of the participating gardens and woodlands, with accommodation to suit groups of different size and budget. The most rewarding ones to visit are the following:

Blair Castle Gardens

Enjoy the seasonal delight of snowdrops in bloom on the beautiful Scottish castle grounds. A gentle weaving route takes you from the Hecules Garden and along to St. Brides Kirk.

Cluny House Gardens

An exceptional woodland garden that includes red squirrels, snowdrops and snowflakes, erythronium and trillium. This is a treat not to be missed!

Glendoick Gardens

Banks of Scottish snowdrops, aconites and cyclamen are on display at these woodland gardens. There’s also a café and plant sales at the garden centre.

Innerpeffray Library and Chapel

A tranquil woodland garden with striking views of the River Earn. You can also explore the chapel churchyard and the 18 century library, which includes a special exhibition of gardening books.

Scone Palace

Take in scenic walks on the woodlands near these historic grounds in Scotland. There are several varieties of snowdrops on display over 100 acres of garden and a coffee shop for when you need a quick pick-me-up afterwards.
